South Royalton Rescue Squad - New Facility
MTA recently wrapped up structural engineering and construction drawings for the new Living Quarters and Garage Building for the South Royalton Rescue Squad in South Royalton, Vermont. Working with Jay White, Architect, we provided full structural design services for this 3,400 SF 1-story building. This new facility will provide much needed, dedicated space to the essential services performed by the SRRS, who is currently housed in two separate facilities. Working in our local communities, providing structural engineering services for Vermont-based community groups is of high importance to our firm.
New Residential Duplex - Stowe, VT
Stowe, VT is renown for its snow-capped summits, its top-notch ski trails, mountain biking and fall foliage. Due to increases in demand on local housing, developers are finding value in ground-up development. Working with Black River Design, MTA recently completed full structural engineering and construction drawings for a new 3-story, 6,800 SF duplex in Stowe. This two-family residence will provide high end housing for those seeking the beauty of the outdoors that Vermont is lauded for. Unique features accounted for in our structural design included a sloping site, a 15 degree building skew, tuck under parking and several exterior architectural roof jogs and details.
Single-Family Addition and Renovation - Wolcott, VT
When the owners of this 2-story residence in Wolcott, Vermont wanted to update and modernize their home, they knew it would take more than updated finishes. Working with the team at Timeless Designs Architecture, a plan was developed to gut rehab some of the home, tear off and rebuild part of the structure, and make expansions at strategically thoughtful areas. As a common partner with TDA, Mass Timber Advisors was brought in as the structural design partner to provide full structural engineering services for this residential build. Throughout design and construction, communication between TDA and MTA and Sticks and Stones Construction resulted in a smooth, all-parties engaged project, providing a beautiful home.
Single-Family Addition - Island in Lake Winnipesaukee, Tuftonboro, NH
Construction on a small island in the middle of Lake Winnepesaukee in New Hampshire? This calls for unique design, detailing, and most importantly, a very keen eye for constructibility and construction sequencing. Continuing our relationship with the team at KOAL Architecture, Mass Timber Advisors provided full structural engineering and construction drawing services for this residential addition in New Hampshire. Due to the difficulties of island construction, the addition needed to be built entirely on precast concrete piers. This addition blends together two currently-separate structures on the site, making this a dream home in a quiet setting.
